Is a vocalist trained in the tradition of North Indian classical music with a particular emphasis in the art form of GHAZAL, a style of vocal expression dating back to the thirteenth century. His performances have captured audiences all over the world, including the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia in venues ranging from world music festivals and concert halls to consulates and British Parliament. Vishal continues to explore the rebirth and infusion of the traditional Ghazal and all of its implications with other contemporary sounds and musical cultures, including American folk music, Moroccan Gnawa music, drum and bass electronica and, of course, urban dance...Urban Tap. The unique poise and style by which Vishal offers his song slowly obscures the timeline continuum of past traditions and musical intentions to come.
